Veneers in Stamford Hill, London

What is a Veneer treatment?

Veneers are the teeth version of false nails. They’re thin sheets of laminate porcelain intended to look like the surface of natural teeth and applied to the front tooth surface. Veneers create a flawless smile simply.

Porcelain Veneers are designed to smooth out your smile line, improve the shade of your existing teeth and evenly proportion the size and width of your teeth. When they’ve fully bonded, the veneers will become stronger – and best of all, won’t discolour or stain.

What’s the procedure for veneers?

  • Before the procedure takes place, the dentist will create impressions and your new veneers will be manufactured, according to these. You’ll then discuss the shapes and shades to plan your perfect smile.
  • During this, the dentist will prepare your teeth and you’ll be put under a local anesthetic. The procedure involves the removal of thin pieces of the tooth structure to permit room for the veneers. This is a small amount and generally the same thickness as the veneer.
  • The veneers will be fitted and applied to the teeth using dental adhesive.

How long do dental veneers last?

If cared for well, veneers should last for many years. Veneers do have the potential to break and become chipped, similar to natural teeth – and we’d recommend ensuring to be extra careful when playing sports or eating hard food.

Why can’t I just whiten my teeth instead?

Professional teeth whitening can brighten your smile and revive your appearance in some cases. However, if you have gaps, permanent stains, or chips, bleaching your teeth won’t resolve this. Porcelain veneers, however, cover the teeth and create a straight, attractive smile.
